Ribble Life
Together
Client: Ribble Rivers Trust
A series of films highlighting various projects that have improved the lives of people along the River Ribble.
Challenge
Ribble Rivers Trust hired us to create a series of films that highlight their work with local farmers and school children.
These films needed to showcase the trust's efforts to educate and engage the community in river conservation, and to inspire people to take action to protect this vital ecosystem

Our unique approach
It was important that we built relationships with the people and communities supported by Ribble Rivers Trust. We held pre-interviews where we entered the environments and met the people who are being supported by the trust. This allowed us to find the emotional impact and ultimately the heart of the story.
From our early research we found that many children didn’t know what a river was with some believing that crocodiles lived in our local rivers. In one of the films we decided to explore the children's lack of knowledge about the river and its wildlife to create a humorous film that captured these interesting insights. By focusing on these responses and then showing what they have learnt during the programme, really emphasises the importance of the Ribble Rivers Trust ‘Ribble Life Together’ project.
Results
These films have not only been used as a showcase of their impact, they are now being used in funding applications and award submissions, leading to the trust growing and winning some very prestigious awards.
Over the past few years we have built a wonderful relationship with Ribble Rivers Trust. We’re proud to be their go-to film partner when capturing their projects and brand story.
We are all very proud of our work together and the charity's amazing work, passion and drive to help maintain the local environment.
“Choosing the right film company is really important. What Northern Heart do really well is, they get to the heart of the matter and think about the emotional impact that our projects have.
They are not just there to make a film, they care about our organisation. All the films have a good emotional feeling to them that really connects with our audience.
If you’ve got people at the heart of the story then they would be the perfect company to work with.”
